By the River and Through the Woods The sun was shining in the fair blue sky when a handful of students and adults from Szignum went for a walk. The leader of the group was the assistant director of the school, Janos Horvath, and he provided us with historical facts and geographical awareness in the land of Mako.
The journey began with traversing to the back trails of Mako in the direction of Szeged, along the Maros River, through some agricultural fields, and traversed back to the Szignum School.
As great as it was to see a bit of the environment and wildlife of the riverbed and the neighboring farms, the most enjoyable moment was having conversations with some of the students without the pressure of the classroom. We conversed about personal hobbies, films, games, the plastic wastes found on the banks of the river, and what secrets could be found in the oysters (sadly, no pearls were found).
By the end of the day, I arrived home relaxed and content with how the day spent. The walk was a friendly reminder on not to overwhelm ourselves with the tasks of our day to day routine and just step back and look around.

A FOLYÓ MELLETT ÉS AZ ERDŐN ÁT
A folyó mellett és az erdőn keresztül, a napsütötte tiszta kék ég alatt egy maroknyi tanulóval és felnőttel a Szignumból sétálni mentünk. A csoport vezetője iskolánk igazgatóhelyettese, Horváth János volt, aki történelmi tényeket és földrajzi érdekességeket mondott Makó vidékéről.
A kirándulást a töltés mellett kezdtük meg Szeged felé, a Maros mellett, át a mezőgazdasági területeken, és a Szignumhoz érkeztünk vissza.
Olyan jó volt látni a környezetet, a folyómeder vadvilágát, valamint a szomszédos tanyákat. A legélvezetesebb pillanat az volt számomra, amikor néhány tanulóval az osztálytermi nyomás feszültségétől mentesen beszélgettünk. Beszéltünk a diákok hobbijairól, filmekről, játékokról, a folyó partján talált műanyag petpalackokról és arról, hogy milyen titkokat rejthetnek a kagylók. (Sajnos gyöngyöt nem találtunk!)
A nap végére kipihenten értem haza, elégedett voltam azzal, ahogy a napot eltöltöttem. A séta finoman emlékeztetett arra, hogy ne terheljük magunkat a napi rutin feladataival, néha lépjünk hátra és nézzünk körül.
